Characteristics of Kapha Dosha / Mind-Body Constitution
If you have a predominantly Kapha constitution, you will exhibit the qualities of Kapha in your mind and body, such as being slow, steady, moist, smooth, oily, calm, and heavy. Your physical appearance will likely be robust and strong, with a radiant complexion, large eyes, and thick, shiny hair.
You are probably warm, friendly, compassionate, and easygoing as well. If you know someone with a Kapha personality, they are likely to be a loyal and reliable friend. When in balance, Kapha types are like teddy bears sweet in nature and enjoyable to be around. However, the heavy qualities of Kapha dosha can sometimes make Kapha types feel sluggish and lethargic (they are known for being deep sleepers).
When it comes to accomplishing tasks, Kapha-dominant individuals generally take their time. They may be slow to start, but they are dependable and committed. Kaphas often have a sweet tooth and may struggle to lose weight, but with a Kapha-balancing diet, they usually feel more balanced.
These are some of the basic characteristics of Kapha dosha (remember, we all have some level of Kapha in our minds and bodies). Now, let’s explore some of the signs you may notice in your mind and body when Kapha dosha is in balance and when it is out of balance.
